Consumerism

People are too attached to things, it’s unhealthy. It’s basically to the point where they use people and love things. It should be the opposite.

It’s such an unhealthy obsession for people to chase this “American Dream”. There is no time to enjoy what you have when you’re chasing the next thing by the time you get it.

You don’t need to buy into this.

Let’s start with maslows hierarchy. At the bottom are the basic human needs. Next comes affection, self-esteem, and lastly self actualization. As long as the consumption is satisfying the basic needs (safety, shelter, food, etc.) it is not consumerism. Once you start trying to satisfy the higher levels with buying goods and services-it becomes a disease.

Everyone should see very clearly why this is such a problem. When people are willing to work like slaves, shove integrity to the side, and break necessary rules just for money.

Sadly, we live in a society of greed over gratitude.
