What is a Mind Map?

Mind mapping are popular because, a new product concept or evaluating a new feature idea during product design, while taking note sometimes gets out of hand and more confusing. Mind maps can be created in many different ways, but they share the same basics.

A mind map is a graphical way to represent ideas and concepts. It is a visual thinking tool that helps structuring information, helping you to better analyze, comprehend, synthesize, recall and generate new ideas.

In a mind map, as opposed to traditional note taking or a linear text, information is structured in a way that resembles much more closely how your brain actually works. it engages your brain in a much, much richer way, helping in all its cognitive functions.

Here’s an example of a simple mind map:

Mind maps always start from a central topic, which is the main topic, and branch out into subtopics. The central topic is “product launch” with a list of “to dos” as subtopic. Bullet points further explain each subtopics. So for the product itself.
