The Old Bus

It is Where I Found Myself

The old bus comes rolling by to take who they can
Back home from the city, to land so remote,
it’s impossible to put in words
that could make most understand
I spent a lot of time looking out of bus windows
I tried to count all the times the doors opened
then closed
To see who is coming along or only taking a rest
My village was the last stop
Two hours up the mountain top
On dirt roads twisting as the bus bounces upon
every bump and turn
You learn how to ride a bus like a horse
which may seem strange to say
This is how you learn to sleep in every
possible which way

I found something fulfilling even in such
a boring task of riding a bus
It is all that time you have to be sitting
You begin thinking of who you are
I know it so well,
I too found who I am
While sitting on the bus just looking out
windows
Who would’ve thought I could figure
such a thing on just a boring old bus on the road?
Your imagination begins to grow as you see
all the motorists in the city
To only rice fields and trees that day by day,
even you begin to see them grow
What a complete change in pace
Look at all the other villages along the way
It was then I realized I am a dreamer
Even a life full of sin
A dreamer of better days
To be someone filled with no hate
To give a feeling of no disgust by judgment
Even though I know others may
look at me in the opposite way

There is nothing like those bumpy roads
To take you back and strip all your egos
That rickety old bus covered in broken windows
That I stare out to dream
I believe there has to be some magic
in this world I see
Just a little is enough for me
To create my dream's own reality
