How to Live in a State Of Unconditional Happiness

When you think of the word happiness, what images or visualizations come to your mind?

Do you picture yourself in a grand big house, playing with your kids, driving that dream car, or being with that special person?

You see, we often associate happiness with something that is external to ourselves. Unfortunately, this is why happiness often comes and goes for most people.

So what is happiness?

It’s being in a state of positive emotion and energy — it feels good to be in that state.

But if it feels so good, why aren’t most people happy? Sure, they may seem so on the outside but deep within, many people are overly stressed and often depressed about things that may be going on in their life.

For years, I lived with this facade of appearing happy and joyful on the exterior. But underneath the surface, I was a wreck.

It’s easy to put on a mask of happiness and therefore, people don’t suspect anything else. You just never know what’s going on underneath the surface in someone's life.

Happiness can definitely be a choice and it depends on a person’s mindset and what they associate with happiness.

Some people seem to more wired for happiness while others struggle to get there. It can either be because of genetics or just the environment they grew up in.

As mentioned before, many people believe that they’ll be happy when or after they reach a certain point in life or obtain certain things — a prestigious status or that perfect someone in their life.

One might say, “I’ll be happy when I quit my job” or “I’ll be happy when I make $1 million”.

The issue with this mentality is that one’s happiness is based off an external source.
