For Those Failing To Succeed

Finding ways to measure and obtain success.

The combination of two things made me feel useless: watching The Founder on Netflix and discovering a Singaporean Youtuber based in Chicago. I’ve always believed that anyone can be successful through hard work and persistence, and both the show and my discovery were a great reiteration of success founded by those values. I guess I was jealous that despite sharing the same values and having similar circumstances, I still haven't found success in anything for myself yet.

I thought I should share my thoughts on those things and talk about what I derived about finding success in life.

I highly recommend the show if you enjoy business-ish things, so look away now if you plan to watch it.

It’s about the founding of McDonald's — how the McDonald brothers essentially had their business stolen by a salesman, Ray Kroc, who franchised the restaurant to what it’s known as today.

Beyond the fact that I learned how McDonald’s became a real estate business under a guise of a fast-food chain and the rage, I felt for the brothers, a few scenes in the movie resonated with me.

The first of such is when Ray Kroc (played by Michael Keaton) sat in a motel listening to motivational audio after a poor day of sales. Most of us can relate to this scene because we all want a breakthrough in life, just like Ray Kroc did. The audio said something like this:

The second scene was when he was arguing with his wife. Ray Kroc was working so much that it was enough to live a comfortable life, and yet he was still not satisfied. In that scene he said:
