Those were the days.

There were days at my grandpa‘s ranch where I could go anywhere I wanted to go and explore the whole mountain top that he owned. There were days I’d climb the highest tree all by myself without any fear of falling. There were days where I would ski faster than anyone else on the steep slopes even though I was only six years old. There were days I would play house with my friends for hours on end, and we could pretend that we were in another country living a whole different life. There were days in my teenage years where I would invite my friends over and fill up balloons, BIG balloons full of water and put them in our hot tub and swim around with them. There were days I would kiss any frog I caught in hopes that maybe the fairy tales were true, and I’d have my prince. There were days when I could make friends so simply and love anyone so easily without any judgment of who they are, where they had been, or where they were going. There were days I spent hours reading books, and I’d read a single 800 page book in just one day. There were days I didn’t have any responsibilities or things to worry about, where I could just be myself and my only focus was making the most of a summer day. They were days I would run around my school trying to get to know everyone’s name, fearlessly meeting new people. There were days when I was younger and not afraid.
